What makes a great bar? Is it the people? The drinks? The decor? All of the above?

We here at A Few Cocktails are going to do our best to define what makes a great bar, then profile select bars across the globe that hit our mark.

When you deconstruct a bar to it's base level, it's a room where people drink, a place to find a mate, see friends, play some games. Then as you move out and begin to categorize bars, you start to stumble into Beach Bars, Cocktail Lounges, Honky Tonks, Hotel Bars...the list goes on and on. 

So why do some bars excel, while others fail? Why do some places just have "it" while others don't.
